Our Haybale event relies on the generosity of the local farming community.  During August and September we ask farmers to donate a bale of hay to us for charity.  Some give us a cash donation.

This hay is then sold at market rates,  the income going to Frome Lions Charitable causes.

This year we are going to support The Julian Wort Trust which was founded in Frome many years ago by the parents of a young man who tragically died from an undiagnosed cardiac condition.
The Charity is better known as CRY (Cardiac Research in the Young), and is now a widespread organisation.

In the main they take groups of young people, arrange cardiac screening and identify any that require treatment and follow through with the help and assistance from their own medical staff.

In a recent group screening of some 200, five were identified as having life threatening cardiac problems that had not previously been diagnosed, so CRY have probably saved 5 more young lives.

Funds raised will pay for group screening and follow up treatment as well as research into the reasons behind the sudden deaths of young people.  More information
