Introduction

Lions Clubs International have run an worldwide Peace Poster Competition for over 30 years and local schools in Frome have often participated in the past. But due to Covid19 virus changing the way we live at the moment, this year we are running a different Community-based competition across Frome and the surrounding villages.

What you need to do!

Firstly have a look at these web pages below. The first is a link showing some of the posters from our local schools over the last few years.  The second link shows you some of the International Peace Poster winners.

Competition Rules

Well, there aren’t any really – you can draw, you can paint, you can use the computer – any way you like of getting your idea across.  You can use any size of paper and even enter as many times as you like!

There will be three age groups as below

  • School Year Groups 1-4
  • School Year Groups 5-8
  • School Year Groups 9-11

The competition will run from now until June 30th 2020 and you can enter whenever you like up to that date.

How do I enter?

This is all online, so you will need to take a photo of your poster on a phone or camera and then email it to peaceposter@fromelions.org.uk.

Please make sure you have your parent/guardians permission to take part and make sure you send your name, year group and school with your entry.

We will only retain email addresses for the duration of the competition/judging so that we can contact you if we need to.  Email addresess will not be used for anything else, stored or passed to any third party.

Winners

The winning entries will be judged by local artists and the winners notified by the end of July.

We will publish some of the entries on our Facebook page and Website, so please inform us if you do not want your entry & details published in that way. We also hope to be able to display the winning entries in Frome Library in the autumn and in the local press.

GOOD LUCK!!
