Sporting Dinner

Frome Lions held their 14th Annual Sporting Dinner at Orchardleigh House on Thursday the 17th January. The Guest Speaker was one of Britain’s best known football pundits and former Manchester United & Aston Villa Manager Ron Atkinson. The 170 guests enjoyed a delicious meal in the magnificent surroundings of the orangery at Orchardleigh. The charity chosen for this years event was Dorothy House Hospice Care, & at the start of the evening, Anne Montague, representing the hospice, informed the guests that the money raised from the evening will be used to fund the Dorothy House Children & Young Peoples Service, who give valuable support to young people who have suffered a bereavement far too early in life.

Frome Lions are extremely grateful to the many sponsors & supporters of the event. They include  Mr Christopher Vincent for donating the venue, Connor Construction ( South West ) Ltd for their overall sponsorship of the event, & fifteen businesses & individuals who donated items for the Auction. Special thanks also to David Millard for compering the evening, & Michael Joyce for conducting the charity auction.

Of course a final thank you to the guests who attended the dinner & supported this worthwhile cause
